I have served as President/CEO of the Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce for nearly 15 years. Our chamber specializes in community facilitation, networking events, and participating in partnerships around economic development. Prior to my chamber work, I spent over 14 years as President of the United Way of Tuscarawas County.
Workforce development is critical to all of our member businesses. The chamber needs to be involved in developing solutions to the workforce issues faced today by employers. Therefore, it made complete sense to become part of an active organization like the Stark Tuscarawas Workforce Development Board.
One workforce challenge I feel passionate about is addressing is the fact that Tuscarawas County is faced with a shortage of childcare for members of the workforce. It is worth exploring possible solutions to that issue at a community level.
Fun fact: I recently ended my broadcasting career after nearly 40 years of covering multiple sports on both radio and television.
