The Early Childhood Resource Center (ECRC) is a community-based organization dedicated to strengthening families and improving outcomes for children by supporting parents and caregivers through education, connection, and practical resources. While our work spans the full early childhood system, a core focus of ECRC’s programming is parent education and father engagement, particularly for fathers navigating transition points in their lives.
In addition to structured curricula, ECRC facilitates Parent Cafés, guided conversations that allow parents and caregivers to connect with peers, share lived experiences, and build social support networks. These relational spaces are often the entry point for men who may be hesitant to engage in traditional services but are seeking connection, encouragement, and direction.
ECRC also serves as a supportive service hub, helping participants access referrals, resources, and wraparound supports that promote stability—such as employment-related resources, parenting supports, and connections to community partners. Our approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed, meeting individuals where they are while helping them envision and work toward a more stable future for themselves and their families.
One thing people may not know about the Early Childhood Resource Center (ECRC) is that much of our impact happens before a crisis becomes visible. While we are often known for our early childhood and family-focused work, ECRC intentionally engages parents—especially fathers—in spaces that prioritize reflection, connection, and personal growth, not just compliance or service completion. Many men come to ECRC programs expecting to “learn about parenting,” but often discover a space where they can talk honestly about identity, accountability, relationships, and the kind of future they want for themselves and their children.
Another lesser-known aspect of ECRC is our emphasis on peer connection as a protective factor. We intentionally design programs that reduce isolation, normalize challenges, and build supportive networks among participants. These relationships often continue well beyond the program itself and become a source of long-term stability and encouragement. At its core, ECRC doesn’t just provide services—we help create environments where parents, particularly fathers, feel seen, valued, and capable of positive change.
